‘Boyz’ Death: A second person has died as a result of the scattered violence that marred last Friday’s opening of the inner-city drama “Boyz N the Hood.” Jitu Jones, 17, of Minneapolis, died Wednesday evening of injuries he suffered when he was shot in the neck at a theater. Earlier, a Chicago area man was killed at a showing of “Boyz,” and five people were shot in and around the Universal City Cineplex Odeon in Los Angeles. In all, about 35 persons were injured nationwide. Although the film had been pulled by at least 19 theaters due to violence and fears of potential trouble last weekend, distributor Columbia Pictures says it will be in 920 theaters this weekend--a net increase of nearly 80 screens, due to strong business.
