Goodyear Blimp Threatened: New Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Chairman Stanley Gault promises that he will look at all parts of the company and will not hesitate to trim or sell those that don’t prove cost-efficient--even the world-famous blimp. “There are no sacred cows,” he said in an interview, describing his plans to pare the troubled tire maker’s $3.7 billion of debt and turn it around after a $38.3-million loss in 1990. “We may need four (blimps), we may need two,” Gault said.
