PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Schroeder Returns After Fever Breaks

Quarterback Jay Schroeder returned to practice after sitting out for two days because of a virus. “The fever broke, and it’s just a matter of letting it run its course,” Schroeder said.

Schroeder was able to take part in passing drills Friday.

The Raiders will hold an intrasquad scrimmage this morning, with the first-team offense going against the second defense, the first defense going against the second offense and the third defense going against the third offense.

The scrimmage, which will be closed to the public, is scheduled for five 12-play drives. After the scrimmage, the Raiders will hold their annual Family Day at Oxnard High. Gates open at 10:30 a.m., and the program starts at 11:15. The players will be available for pictures and autographs at 1:30 p.m.

Tailback Marcus Allen would not comment on a report that he plans to file an antitrust suit against the NFL. . . . Punter Jeff Gossett, whose wife gave birth to a five-pound boy Thursday, reported to camp Friday. The Raiders cut rookie tackle Rob Flory to make room for Gossett. . . . Tailback Greg Bell sat out practice because of a minor shoulder injury.
