Costa Mesa’s Attila Malek and partner Jane Chui of Bedford, Mass., lost in the quarterfinals of mixed doubles in table tennis to Sean O’Neill of McLean, Va. and Diana Gee of San Carlos, 21-7, 21-16. Malek and Chui reached the quarters with a 2-1 record in round-robin play . . . Todd Ahmadi of San Juan Capistrano had 21 kills in the North’s 3-2 match victory over the East in the bronze-medal game for men’s volleyball. Mark Presho of Huntington Beach had 17 kills for the East.
