Who Gets the Blame for Poor Attendance at Olympic Festival?
It is with extreme reluctance that I must agree with Mayor Bradley that The Times is somewhat responsible for the poor turnout at the Olympic Festival. The reason is not, as Allan Malamud sarcastically put it, too much coverage, but an absence of who, when and where prior to the start of the festival.
Mr. Malamud would probably like to blame the lady who was the organizer, but one must keep in mind that she had a limited budget and did not have a Forum Club, she did not have a Stadium Club and she did not have a draft party once a year to wine and dine sportswriters in order to get the coverage she desired.
