From Times Staff and Wire Reports
NASA began another countdown at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for space shuttle Atlantis’ satellite delivery and research mission. The mission has been delayed eight days by a faulty engine computer. Liftoff is scheduled for Thursday at 2:01 p.m. PDT. Atlantis’ five astronauts are to free a satellite from the cargo bay six hours into the flight. An attached rocket is to boost the satellite into a 22,300-mile-high orbit.
