Funding Up for LATC: In a year that saw grants from the National Endowment for the Arts reduced to most theaters, the financially troubled Los Angeles Theatre Center has received a $75,000 NEA grant--$10,000 more than last year, and the largest increase for any California theater. NEA theater program director Ben Cameron said the increase sends “a very strong signal” about the importance of LATC. As usual, Center Theatre Group received the largest single grant to a California theater, $230,000, but that was down from last year’s $260,000.
