Man Arrested in Killing of Neighbor in Feud
A Glassell Park man allegedly shot and killed his next-door neighbor Wednesday, ending a long-running dispute, police said.
The gunman, whose name was withheld, was arrested on a front lawn in the 3200 block of Carlyle Street, said Detective Ron Whitt of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Station.
“The suspect pulled a small-caliber handgun and fired several rounds at the victim, striking him in the upper torso one time,” Whitt said. “The two men had been involved in an ongoing dispute.” Paramedics took Eustaquio Medrano, 49, to County-USC Medical Center, where he died shortly after the 5 a.m. shooting.
