EC Gives $11.3 Million in Aid for Iraqi Kurds

BRUSSELS — The European Community gave $11.3 million in emergency aid Wednesday to help Kurdish refugees in northern Iraq.
The European Commission, the executive body of the EC, said in a statement that the money would provide food, water, health supplies, sanitation, shelter and electricity in the Sulaymaniyah region of Iraq, where there are about 350,000 displaced persons.
