Parks Helps U.S. Top Canadian Junior Team
Cherokee Parks, the former Marina High School standout who will be a freshman at Duke in the fall, scored nine points in 17 minutes Wednesday, helping the U.S. to a 97-72 victory over Canada in the World Junior Men’s Basketball Championships in Edmonton, Canada.
Wesley Person (Auburn) and Jamal Faulkner (Arizona State) led the U.S. with 12 points each, Khalid Reeves (Arizona) and Antonio Lang added 11.
The U.S., which improved to 5-0, faces Brazil tonight.
