Countywide : MADD Honors 8 for Their Efforts
Law enforcement officials representing various agencies have been honored at an awards dinner by the county chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
The dinner at Oxnard’s Financial Plaza on Wednesday was organized to recognize outstanding efforts by personnel who work in the drunk-driving field, chapter administrator Linda Sanchez said.
“We wanted to recognize the great job and hard, dedicated work they do in keeping drunk drivers off of the highways,” Sanchez said. “They’re always out there, and they need to be recognized.”
Award recipients included California Highway Patrol Officer Joe Davy, Senior Deputy Probation Officer Ralph Brand of the county Corrections Services Agency, Oxnard Police Officer Steve Moore and Simi Valley Police Officer Kathy Shatz.
Also honored were Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies Joe Rivas of the Camarillo station and Tony Marr of the East Valley station, and Ventura Police Officers Carl Handy and John Leach.
