Fan Verses Reviewer
This poem is in response to Cathy Curtis’ review of “Jerome Robbins’ Broadway” (“A Regrettable Act,” July 25):
The music was great
The movements alive
Each dancer ablaze
With talent and drive.
The audience saw
The audience shouted
The audience loved it
But the reviewer, she pouted.
No humor has she
No love of the arts
The people applauded
And the reviewer threw darts.
Ms. Curtis it’s clear
Had a problem that night,
She missed the mood of the show
She had faulty hearing and sight
It’s hard to believe
We were there the same night.
The acclaim through the land
Brought a Tony you see
For Ms. Curtis it’s plain
In her heart there’s no glee.
Artists create
Those who can’t write review
So we aim our arrow
Cathy Curtis . . . at YOU!!! ETHEL and LARRY HANNA
