BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Finley Is Expected to Start Tuesday

Chuck Finley is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday after a bone scan revealed only inflammation in his left big toe. Finley was scratched Saturday because of pain. He will continue therapy and take medication.

Fernando Valenzuela made his second appearance with triple-A Edmonton on Sunday. He gave up six runs, four earned, on six hits, walked three and hit a batter in a four-plus-inning start against Portland.

Joe Grahe will make his second start of the season today, filling a hole created when the Angels moved up Kirk McCaskill and Mark Langston in the rotation because of Finley’s missed start.

Grahe was activated after Sunday’s game, and pitcher Chris Beasley was sent to triple-A Edmonton.

Bryan Harvey, the Angels’ closer, will miss the next two games because of the death of his grandmother Sunday.
