Artemus Ham Jr.; Attorney, Benefactor of UNLV
Artemus Ham Jr., 71, an attorney and prominent benefactor of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Ham donated more than $1 million to the university, including funds for the Artemus Ham Concert Hall and the Alta Ham Fine Arts Building, named after his deceased parents. A Las Vegas native, Ham attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned a bachelor’s degree at Stanford University. He earned a law degree at Hastings College of Law in San Francisco and began practicing law in Las Vegas in 1948. In La Jolla on Saturday of a heart attack.
