J. William Grimes has been named vice president and corporate group executive of Greenville, S.C.-based Multimedia Inc. Grimes had been chief executive of Univision Holdings Inc., the Miami-based Spanish-language broadcaster that owns KMEX-TV (Channel 34) in Los Angeles since 1988. Previously he was president of the sports cable-TV network ESPN. Multimedia owns TV stations, cable systems, newspapers and produces the “Donahue” TV show. Grimes will identify acquisition targets for company and run government relations department.
Joaquin F. Blaya, president of the Spanish-language Univision TV Network, has been named acting president of Univision Holdings, succeeding Grimes. Univision is owned by Hallmark Cards.
