Instead of Catfish, It’s Largemouth at Castaic
It may be catfish season in the Southland, but don’t tell that to fishermen at Castaic Lake, which continues to produce trophy largemouth bass, as one family of three discovered.
Fishing from shore on the lower lake, Leo Castaneda of Los Angeles filled his stringer with three largemouth, topped by a 10-pounder. Tony’s daughter, Leticia, brought in two bass, including one weighing 10 pounds 8 ounces, and his son, Tony pulled in a five-pounder.
