Arcadia : Equipment Purchase OKd
Arcadia was short on equipment after the Sierra Madre earthquake, and city officials want to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
A report by Fire Chief Gerald Gardner said there weren’t enough hand tools and basic supplies to equip all the emergency workers after the June 28 temblor, which killed one woman and caused extensive damage in Arcadia.
Gardner recommended that the city purchase a steel storage unit and hard hats, lanterns, gloves, street brooms, axes and wheelbarrows.
The City Council approved spending $13,500 for the equipment.
