The Bush Administration insisted it is not siding with protesters who have blockaded two Wichita, Kan., abortion clinics, even though it has filed legal documents opposing a federal judge’s injunction against the demonstrations. The Justice Department filing unleashed a storm of protest from women’s groups, which charged that the action condones mob violence. In Kennebunkport, Me., President Bush said the intervention is based solely on a “jurisdictional problem.”
