Ditzler replaced Jon Hammermeister, who resigned after five seasons to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Washington.

Ditzler, a 1991 UCSD graduate, played for the Tritons from 1988 to 1990 and helped the team reach the NCAA Division III national championships all three seasons. His career record in singles was 40-25. He also teamed with several partners and won more than 30 doubles matches.

He inherits a team that returns intact and finished sixth in the nationals last year.
