The Women’s Professional Volleyball Assn. has announced it will hold four-woman pro beach tournaments in conjunction with the regular two-woman tournaments during several stops on the planned 20-city 1992 tour.

The four-woman tournaments will be played on Friday and Saturday before the two-woman tournaments. The games will not overlap so that athletes will be able to compete in both formats.

“We want to offer our members an expanded format in which to showcase their athletic abilities and to afford them additional financial opportunities,” WPVA Executive Director Roxana Vargas said. “We also feel it’s another exciting form of volleyball that our fans will enjoy.”
