Oxley Wins Twice in Speedway Racing

Brad Oxley of San Clemente doubled up Friday night, winning the four-lap scratch main and eight-lap handicap main events at the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

It was the first time in two years that a rider has won both events at the Fairgrounds and the third time Oxley has accomplished it in 16 years of racing.

Oxley led wire-to-wire in the scratch main. Mike Faria of Colton was second and Phil Collins of Costa Mesa was third. In the handicap main, Oxley passed Chris Manchester on the fifth lap. Shawn McConnell of Brea was second and Manchester was third.
