San Gabriel : Swim Program Fund Drive
The San Gabriel Sea Gulls Swim Team has launched a fund-raising drive to keep the city’s youth swimming program going year-round.
The goal is to raise $10,000 to keep Smith Park pool open between Oct. 1 and Jan. 31.
The group will hold a “Swim-for-a-Year-a-Thon” at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the pool, 232 W. Broadway.
Sixty team members are soliciting pledges for each lap they swim.
There will also be a free water safety course for elementary schoolchildren in the San Gabriel School District.
