HANGING IN THERE: The Angels may stink, but their fans still seem to be loyal (E1). Average paid attendance per game has actually increased by more than 2,100 since the team’s slide from first to last began. . . . But the season total is down nearly 1,000 per game from the recent average. “Our attendance didn’t really change when we went into first,” said a team spokesman. “I think the second half of the season is when you really see the attendance change with the team.”
