South El Monte : Change for Commissioners
The City Council has moved to gradually change the terms of the commissioners at the Human Services, Parks and Recreation and Planning departments to ensure that each board has experienced members.
Each of the commissions has five members. Previously, their terms were simultaneous, so that 15 new members took office in June.
Three of the recent appointees to each board will serve two-year terms and two others one-year terms, with the selection made by lot. Future commissioners will serve two-year terms.
The Human Services Commission will continue to include at least one person over 55 and one between 16 and 21.
