Pasadena : Ban in Store for Skaters?
Skateboarding and roller-skating may be banned in the city’s business districts and pedestrian malls under a new law requested Tuesday by the City Council.
The council directed City Atty. Victor Kaleta to devise such a law after business owners on South Lake Avenue complained that skaters damage property and interfere with pedestrians. Violators of the proposed law could be fined.
But skaters will not be completely banished. The council also asked Kaleta to find an area in a city park that could be set aside for skateboarding and roller-skating.
