Theatre Center’s Financial Woes
Concerning the possible closure of the Los Angeles Theatre Center, I am a charter subscriber, a native resident of Los Angeles and work downtown. In response to comments reported in The Times (Metro, Aug. 3) by Adolfo Nodal, Zev Yaroslovsky and Joy Picus, let me emphasize that it may not be “the end of the world” (Nodal) if the theater closes, but it will be the end of consistent, excitingly diverse, outstanding, original theater; and as to its location being “terrible” (Yaroslovsky), he and I both work nearby and we should be supportive of its location in order to revitalize that area. And many of us are also “ready to put on mourning clothes and weep” (Picus), if the company closes.
Let’s hear it from the public in support of this wonderful theater experience; let the financial backers know that we support it with our dollars, and we want them to do so too!
