NATION IN BRIEF : WISCONSIN : Dahmer Taunted in Jail, Ex-Inmate Says
Jeffrey Dahmer, who has confessed to 17 dismemberment slayings, has been nicknamed “the chop-chop man” by fellow Milwaukee County Jail inmates, who taunt him relentlessly, a published report said. The 31-year-old former chocolate factory worker has been housed in a one-man cell, kept under 24-hour watch, given special meals and allowed to smoke, the Milwaukee Sentinel reported. The paper talked to a former inmate, who said many inmates taunt Dahmer with homosexual remarks. It quoted the former inmate as saying Dahmer used racial slurs against blacks in the jail. Dahmer has been charged with 12 of the killings, which include some evidence of cannibalism. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next Thursday.
