CSUN Names Dean Acting Vice President
Donald Bianchi, dean of the school of science and mathematics at Cal State Northridge, has been named acting vice president of academic affairs at the university by President James W. Cleary.
Bianchi replaces Robert Suzuki, who resigned recently to become president of Cal Poly Pomona. He will serve as a vice president until a replacement for Suzuki can be found, Cleary said.
Bianchi, an authority in cellular biology, began teaching at the university in 1959. He received the CSUN Outstanding Teacher Award in 1972. A Northridge resident, Bianchi has been dean of the school of science and mathematics since 1973. He holds a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
