30 Tamil Rebels Killed in Battle at Sri Lankan Fort

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Soldiers trying to expand their control around a strategic fort killed 30 Tamil rebels in a day of fighting, the military said Saturday.
Two soldiers were killed and 12 wounded in the battle Friday when Tamil rebels fired at troops guarding the Elephant Pass army camp, military officials in Colombo said.
