Nibbles and Bits
Fullerton resident Jane Parker has been appointed chairwoman of the Board of Trustees at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center Foundation, replacing Beverly Gunter, who is now vice president in charge of programs. Harold Muckenthaler, whose father built the center in 1924, was installed as associate trustee.
On Aug. 6, the Fullerton City Council awarded a contract for $575,978 to Goodman and Peloquin of Fullerton to start work on the first phase of the center’s renovation. It includes construction of an entry pavilion as well as improvements to the outdoor Theater-on-the-Green. The foundation, which has contributed $175,000 to the project and plans to raise another $60,000 for the theater, is contemplating a multimillion-dollar campaign to build a hospitality facility as well as new office, gallery and enclosed auditorium space.
