SIMI VALLEY : Husband Arrested in Death of Ex-Resident
The death of a former Simi Valley woman has resulted in her husband’s arrest, police said.
Stephen J. Carlton, 22, of Upland was arrested Aug. 13 in connection with the strangulation of Shelley Roberts Carlton, 20, said Lt. John Cannon of the Upland Police Department. Carlton is free from West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on bail and is awaiting arraignment Monday.
Cannon said Carlton called the Upland Police Department about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 13 and said he had arrived at his apartment in the 1400 block of West Foothill Boulevard in Upland to find his wife lying dead on the floor. He was arrested following questioning, Cannon said.
