Kicking Tires at Continental: Continental Airlines confirmed that it has held “discussions with several people,” including officials at Northwest Airlines, about a possible merger. Absorbing debt-heavy Continental, which has been under bankruptcy protection since December, would make No. 4 Northwest the largest U.S. carrier. The Wall Street Journal said Los Angeles investor Marvin Davis is also interested in Continental. Davis declined comment.
