WELCOME HOME: “Home Alone” arrived at video stores Thursday and, as predicted, was an instant smash. Blockbuster Video in Stanton stocked 100 rentals and reported they were “going like crazy.” . . . “It’s going to be our most popular release ever,” was the prediction of Kevin Williams, the store manager. “It’s quality and family; that’s a combination you can’t beat.” . . . Several stores reported a dozen people waiting in line when doors opened, all wanting “Home Alone,” which stars 8-year-old Macaulay Culkin, above, who outthinks the bad guys. One Santa Ana owner said he bought 20 copies, double any other movie, and rented them out as soon as the doors opened. Pre-sale orders for the movie have already hit9 million nationwide. The movie grossed $281 million at the box office.
