Pan Ams Didn’t Make Going Great
Bill Wall’s arrogant, insensitive comments attempting to justify the U.S. basketball team’s junket to Miami in the midst of the competition at the Pan American Games were not only an insult to the host country, but to the millions of Americans who contribute money to support amateur athletics in this country as well.
Is that where our money goes?
If our soon-to-be millionaires, as Wall refers to them, prefer luxury hotels and personal service to the facilities provided by the host country (and deemed good enough by the other 8,000 athletes in attendance), then let them pay for it themselves.
