Software Sales: Anaheim-based Micro Technology Inc., a maker of storage products for minicomputers, said it has formed a division to sell its software for monitoring networks of computers.
The division, called Lexcel, is based in Fullerton and will sell the company’s Lance software product line, which is used by corporate computer managers to monitor usage of computers in a network and determine the amount of disk space available on a network.
“With the creation of Lexcel, we now have a separate entity that is totally dedicated to expanding and improving our product line,” said Steve Hamerslag, chief executive of Lexcel and its parent company.
Hamerslag said the company will issue an updated version of its Lance software on Sept. 30 for $20,950. The update is free for current customers.
