OXNARD : Man Arrested Over Break-In at School
A would-be burglar triggered a silent alarm at Oxnard High School just after midnight on Monday and was apprehended after a short chase, an Oxnard Police Department spokesman said.
Police spotted the suspect, dressed in black, in one of the schoolrooms, Sgt. Ken Nishihara said. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect attempted to run away but was captured as he left the building, Nishihara said. He said that police discovered a broken window at the school, but that no property was missing.
Jaime Flores, a 19-year-old transient, was booked on suspicion of burglary, Nishihara said.
