Jockey Jake Barton, caught at the starting gate at the Northlands race track in Edmonton, Canada, with an electrical device used to stimulate horses, has been suspended from racing anywhere in North America for 18 months.
Barton, suspended by the Alberta Racing Commission, told the racing body he used such a device on Bold Archon in four stakes races in the last year at the track. He said he also used the device during workouts.
