Nunn Arrested After Domestic Squabble

L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies arrested former middleweight boxer champion Michael Nunn on suspicion of inflicting corporal punishment on his live-in girlfriend, Loretha Boyce, in Agoura Hills Wednesday.

Deputies said Nunn had assaulted Boyce, 28, after arguing over “problems with their relationship when he slapped her.” Nunn was held for 2 1/2 hours before being released on $15,000 bail. He will face arraignment Sept. 25 in Malibu Municipal Court.

This is not the first time Nunn has been arrested. In March 1989, he was arrested and charged with simple assault after a neighborhood street brawl in his hometown of Davenport, Iowa. In March 1988, Nunn was investigated for his involvement in a brawl at an Universal City restaurant.

Margaret Ramos, INS asylum director in Houston, declined to comment on Vladu’s case, but said the several steps of the process could take more than two months to complete.
