Second Man Found Guilty in Murder of Woman
A Pasadena Superior Court jury on Friday found George Marvin Trone Jr., 21, guilty of robbing, sexually assaulting and murdering a 26-year-old Pasadena woman after abducting her from a shopping mall in 1988.
But the panel deadlocked on the issue of special allegations, for which Trone could be sentenced to death. Judge Charles C. Lee ordered the jury to resume deliberations Tuesday on the death penalty issues.
Trone and Ronald Anthony Jones, 21, both of Pasadena, were arrested in the slaying of Lois Haro after kidnaping her at the Plaza Pasadena. In a separate trial earlier this year, Jones was convicted and sentenced to death.
