The Region : Changes in Transit Plan
In response to appeals from Glendale and San Gabriel Valley officials, county transportation officials say they have revised a 30-year transit plan, adding several rail and highway projects.
The Los Angeles County Transportation Commission announced last week revisions in its priority list, including the extension of the Los Angeles to Pasadena light rail line. Under the proposal, the train route would extend 10 miles beyond Pasadena, passing through Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte and Azusa.
In addition, the agency, which dictates the use of the region’s transportation funds, proposed extending the light rail Blue Line from Los Angeles to Glendale and building a commuter rail line along the Pomona Freeway.
