Man Shot to Death at Mother’s Grave

A 53-year-old man was shot to death early Saturday at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Memorial-Park while he was visiting his mother’s grave, police said.

The body of Onnik Kouyoumdjian of Los Angeles was found at 9 a.m. by another mourner, said Officer Robert Courtland of the Los Angeles Police Department. Courtland said Kouyoumdjian had been shot several times. There were no witnesses and no motive was immediately apparent, he said.

Kouyoumdjian, an Armenian who worked in the garment district, was found near the grave of Nazik Kouyoumdjian, whose tombstone was inscribed, “1910-1990, Beloved Mother and Grandmother.”
