Torera Volleyball Team Undefeated at Tournament
The University of San Diego women’s volleyball team finished the University of Nevada (Reno) Tournament undefeated (3-0) after two victories on Saturday. The first came against Bradley, 15-10, 10-15, 11-15, 15-10, 15-7, and the second against St. Mary’s, 15-12, 15-5, 10-15, 15-0.
USD’s Nikki Wallace, who had 23 kills for the day, was named tournament MVP.
San Diego State managed a third-place finish in the ASU-Footlocker Tournament with two victories and finished the round-robin tournament at 2-2.
SDSU first got by Utah State, 15-9, 15-2, 15-3, and later slipped past Hofstra, 15-7, 13-15, 15-6, 15-7.
Aztec Gracie Schutt had 32 kills in the two matches and was named to the all-tournament team as was teammate Jennifer Miller.
