Make Me Wanna Direct: Columbia Pictures and John Singleton’s New Deal Productions have acquired the feature film rights to Nathan McCall’s upcoming autobiography, “Make Me Wanna Holler.” The book, still a work-in-progress, is by Washington Post metro reporter McCall, who was in prison for armed robbery in the ‘70s before he turned his life around and became a journalist. Singleton, who will direct the project, made his screenwriting and directorial debut for Columbia with “Boyz N the Hood.”
