Ira Zimmerman took offense because a key character stutters, so he dispatched a letter of complaint to producer Sydney Pollack and director-star Kenneth Branagh. . . . “We who are truly handicapped by a chronic stutter are sick and tired of thoughtless Hollywood films that keep exploiting the public’s ignorance about the speech disorder of stuttering,” Zimmerman wrote. A spokesman for Pollack and Branagh didn’t return a phone call.
