Paul Anthony Holston, 28, has been arrested on the 3500 block of Adams Avenue and booked into County Jail on suspicion of murder, said police homicide Lt. Dan Berglund.
Holston is accused of killing David Spaulding, 27. Police said Holston went to the home of his estranged wife, Loretta, at about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday and found her and Spaulding asleep on the living room floor.
Apparently, in an attack of jealousy, Holston beat Spaulding on the head with a baseball bat, Berglund said.
Spaulding died Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital.
Loretta Holston told police she and Spaulding were “just friends.” Berglund said she has a temporary restraining order prohibiting Paul Holston from contacting her.
Holston, of Ohio, is scheduled for arraignment Monday. No bail was set.
