World IN BRIEF : MOROCCO : Cease-Fire in Effect as U.N. Team Arrives
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A United Nations-supervised cease-fire went into effect in the disputed Western Sahara as about 100 U.N. peacekeepers from 16 countries were deployed in the region. The U.N. contingent will be expanded to 1,700 troops during the coming weeks.
