OUTLOOK
Why is Looney smiling so much these days? His Wildcats are the defending league champions, and they’re ranked fourth in the Southern Section Division VI preseason poll. He also has the county’s top returning quarterback in Luevanos, who completed 95 of 144 passes for 1,385 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, and three experienced receivers. “Our strength is offensively, in our skill kids,” Looney said. “All are proven players. But we’ve lost four of our five offensive linemen, so that’s probably a weakness.” Seitz, a center, is the only returning starter on the offensive line. Newcomer Conrad has shown potential. “We have a lot of quality people on the line,” Looney said.
