Interracial Tensions
In response to “Body Language Stokes the Anger,” by Cecil L. Murray, Commentary, Aug. 29:
I am highly offended by Murray’s suggestion of “hiring a few blacks” and “visiting each other’s homes” as a way to solve the racial problems between Asians and African-Americans.
How many of us visit in the homes of our casual acquaintances and co-workers?
The easiest way I can think of--and what I do--is don’t patronize establishments where you are not treated with respect.
This brings me to the subject of Japanese cars. After reading of their offensive cartooning and insensitivity toward African-Americans, I am taking very good care of my Datsun. It’s the last Japanese car I plan to buy!
