FULLERTON : $74-Million Budget for District OKd
Fullerton Joint Union High School District trustees have given final approval to a $74-million budget for 1991-92.
Trustees voted unanimously last week to approve the budget, which includes a cost-of-living adjustment from the state for the school year.
Unlike several other districts in the county, Fullerton Joint Union High was not forced to lay off any employees this year. However, a nursing and an administrative position will remain unfilled, along with several clerical, maintenance and transportation spots.
The district has also been in a better position because salary increases are tied to the state’s cost-of-living adjustment, whereas other districts must honor employee contracts with set raises.
The spending plan includes a $60.5-million general fund budget, used to pay the district’s day-to-day operating costs. Nearly 80% of the general fund will go to employee salaries and benefits.
