Nation IN BRIEF : UTAH : Storm-Fed Floods Devastate Homes

Flooding continued in northern Utah after three days of heavy rain--nearly six inches of it in a two-hour period over the weekend. About 100 homes were flooded in North Ogden, Utah. Several were destroyed. Some residents reported water as deep as six feet, Mayor Bruce Dursteler said. Rushing water twisted one home two feet off its foundation, he said. Flooding and mudslides also caused damage elsewhere in the region.
